Erkers1879 To Launch New Collection at Vision Expo West

Erkers 1879 V Collection 2022

Erkers1879 announced the release of their new collection, Roman Numeral V, which will first be shown at Vision Expo West in Las Vegas. The brand-new collection features 10 new eyeglass models, 7 new sunglass models, and 22 never-seen-before acetate color blends.

Each model is available in 4-5 colors and designed in a classic, timeless style with contemporary influences. Exclusive to the brand, each color blend is custom designed by the Erkers using a subdued, modern color palette. The Erkers pride themselves on the quality of their handcrafted eyewear, using cellulose acetate and surgical-grade stainless to achieve a durable yet lightweight product. The frames are hand-polished during the 48-step manufacturing process, ensuring each frame is buttery-smooth and soft to the touch.

Taking inspiration from the long line of Erkers who’ve run the family business, the Roman Numeral V is meant to represent the 5th generation, Jack III and Tony Erker. Signifying the collection, a gold emblem of the Roman Numeral V can be found on the right temple tip of each new frame, with an emblem of the year of inception on the left.

With over 143 years in downtown St. Louis, the new collection pays tribute to their hometown by naming each model after a street or area throughout the city. As a heritage brand, each collection is meant to tell a story of the family’s past, including even the smallest details on the frames. The new collection tells the story of Jack III and Tony, noting their upbringings within the family business and how they’ve built upon the legacy of their ancestors.
