Erkers1879 Unveils the AP Collection

Erkers1879 is thrilled to unveil their latest collection, AP, introducing 15 eyewear models and 11 never-before-seen color blends to their heritage brand. As a family-owned business with a rich history, the Erkers use their product collections to tell the stories of their past, this one highlighting their founding father, Adolph P. Erker (A.P.), and the start of their familial legacy. Each frame from the collection takes its name from the city of St. Louis, where A.P. opened its original optical store in 1879 and where the family business is still headquartered to this day.

For the initial release of the collection, the Erkers have designed 13 eyeglass models and 2 sunglass models, all of which are handcrafted and hand-polished in their meticulous 48-step manufacturing process. Made to last a lifetime, each piece consists of either surgical-grade stainless steel or a custom cellulose acetate, designed by the Erkers exclusively for the brand. Each model is available in 4-5 colors.

Catering to a wide range of personal styles, the release introduces six feminine eyeglasses, three masculine, and four unisex frames in a range of shapes and sizes. Of the feminine eyeglasses, there are five acetate models, Winghaven, Sycamore Hills, Bridgeton, Westwood, and Bellefontaine, and one metal eyeglass, Arnold, featuring a classic cat eye shape with a sleek, sophisticated style. Of the men’s eyeglasses, there are two acetate models, Beverly Hills and Olivette, and one metal, Creve Coeur, a classic rectangle that’s perfect for everyday wear. Of the unisex frames, there are two acetate models, Northwoods and Bates City, and two metal, Vanita Park and Bernard.

The two sunglasses, Chippewa and Portland Place are both polarized combination frames with a mix of acetate and surgical steel. Blending classic and contemporary elements, Chippewa is a masculine sunglass featuring a metal frame with an acetate piece along the brow for a fresh, unique look. Portland Place, a women’s sunglass with a cat eye shape, features a metal brow and temples paired with colored acetate rims for a modern, expressive style.
