After a long hiatus with a lingering pandemic, 100% Optical is excited to welcome visitors to London Excel from 23-25 April. British and international brands will present their latest collections, and visitors anticipate the pleasure of connecting with business friends and associates.
Among the highlights of the event is the Love Awards to promote independent designers and their most notable frames of the year; plus acknowledging the retailer of the year, the most exciting window display, and New Designer of the Year. Eight different frame categories are included: Women’s Frame and Sunglass designs; Men’s Frame and Sunglass designs; Unisex Frames; Luxury Frame; Sustainable Frame and Kid’s Eyewear of the year. Included in the 100% Optical program are daily fashion shows, a Design Arcade, and a Dispensing Workshop.
Participating in the exhibition is Götti Switzerland, presenting their elegant, creative frame interpretations in optical and sunglass styles; plus Sustainable glasses, and 3D printed designs. The fine, slim proportions of Dagley in gold-rose titanium are a superb example of streamlined elegance. Each Götti creation is infused with traditional spectacle-making details, coupled with state-of-the technical qualities and innovative materials. Götti Switzerland is shortlisted in two categories for the Love Awards: a Perspective design in the Women’s Sunglasses category, and also for Sustainable Eyewear.
British brand Kirk & Kirk exhibit new designs at 100% Optical including Nancy from the Kaleidoscope Collection, a flirtatiously crafted silhouette in acrylic in the stunning shade of Juniper. Acrylic eyewear showcases high-spirited colours, plus it is extremely light and durable. Kirk & Kirk is also amongst the nominees for a Love Award with the Thor frame, in the Men’s division.
The Normandy landscape in northern France is the setting for Struktur eyewear, with their beautifully made and colorful frame designs. The Singer combines an acetate front and titanium temples, with a graphically artistic shape in Blue Dragon Matt. The streamlined design is proposed for a Love Award in the Unisex sector.
Mediterranean influences joyfully empower the Jisco collection of optical and sunglass designs, with stunning colors inspired by the sea and sun. Cooly’s voluminous form with slim contours in metal and acetate in alluring turquoise symbolizes calm and clarity. The Spanish label has also been put forward for a Love Award in the Sustainable sector.
The Japanese Zen philosophy and historical Japanese eyewear inspire the Minamoto collection by Charmant. The charm of the delicately crafted designs is evidenced in Katsushiro, with lovely engravings on the temples, and antique color finishing. The Minamoto collection is a tribute to Japanese heritage, combined with contemporary materials and technical advances.
Heritage is also the hallmark of Erkers1879 in St. Louis Missouri, with a collection that features optical and sunglass designs emphasizing contemporary credentials. Edgy and chic, Lafayette’s generously shaped statement silhouette is shown in Olive Fade. Erker’s is nominated for a Love Award in the Men’s optical category with the stainless steel design Wildwood.
A soothing color and dynamic geometric shape enhances the beauty of Grove, by Lower Case, in powder blue hand polished Italian acetate – dashing and glamorous! The independent label crafts each frame in its own factory in Brooklyn, New York. Lower Case is also on the shortlist for a Love Award in the Women’s frame division.
Award-winning Eyespace, the dynamic British label co-founded by Jayne and Julie Able, set its sights on summer pastimes and pleasures with stylish Athena sunglasses by Aspinal. The coquettish acetate shape is a statement mix of vintage and contemporary.
