Eyewear Designers (edCFDA) Present New Designs At VEE16

Nine members of the prestigious Eyewear Designers of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (edCFDA) will present new eyewear designs at International Vision Expo during the first ever Eyewear Showcase on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 3:30pm – 5:00pm in the Galleria Lounge (Javits Center).

“An exchange of energy!” – edCFDA spokesperson Christian Roth – called the event, adding: “Taste makers and buyers will have a unique opportunity to engage one-on-one with nine trendsetting and internationally well-known American eyewear designers to gather personal insights into their collections.”

Designers Patty Perreira (BARTON PERREIRA), Blake Kuwahara (BLAKE KUWAHARA), Christian Roth (CHRISTIAN ROTH), Daniel Silberman (ILLESTEVA), Gai Gherardi (L.A. EYEWORKS), Shane Baum (LEISURE SOCIETY), Jeff Press (MORGENTHAL FREDERICS), Robert Marc (ROBERT MARC), and Selima Salaun (SELIMA OPTIQUE) will be on hand to personally showcase their latest designs and to answer any questions during the event.

“By launching the CFDA Eyewear Showcase with International Vision Expo, we are putting the spotlight on the eyewear design talent at the CFDA, a dynamic and growing group of creators,” said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA. “The showcase also builds on our mission statement: to strengthen the influence and success of American Fashion Designers in the global economy.”

“The showcase event will mark the first time that the edCFDA has collectively shown their work together at Vision Expo,” said Ashley Mills, Vice President, Trade Shows & Meetings, The Vision Council. “We are pleased that the edCFDA – a group that places importance on eyewear as fashion – has chosen to host this showcase event amidst the backdrop of Vision Expo’s 30th anniversary.”

Earlier this year, Vision Expo included edCFDA members Christian Roth, Shane Baum, Blake Kuwahara, Gai Gherardi, Selima Salaun, and Robert Marc in its Visionaries Campaign.

The event is supported by Eyecare Business and 20/20 and will feature a champagne reception.
