The Eyewear Styling Academy have been crowned champions in the ‘Optical Supplier of the Year’ category at the UK Industry ‘Optician Awards 2020’. The 2020 awards, which were held online on Wednesday 9th December, celebrated those who have excelled with the optical industry during 2019. In the hotly contested category of Optical Supplier of the Year, five businesses had been shortlisted. On the evening it was announced that the judges chose the Eyewear Styling Academy as winners for ‘’their fun and innovative approach which makes a difference to both practices and patients and brings UK dispensing into the 21st Century.’’
Judges were looking for companies who met the following criteria: excelled at its customers’ needs; demonstrated excellence in service, quality and relationships; demonstrably met customers’ expectations; given an above-expected level of service; and been innovative at engaging customers.
Founder and director of the Eyewear Styling Academy, also optometrist & image consultant – Eva Davé, said: ‘’I launched the Eyewear Styling Academy in 2018 and to have been chosen as a winner in this popular category is extremely humbling. The Eyewear Styling Academy aligns perfectly with my personal and business value of helping others; the course is set up to help other opticians find a new and proven way to effectively dispense eyewear to make their clients feel fantastic.
After years of struggling to find eyewear that I loved and comfortable in, I realized that it was the industry which was letting clients down. So, I trained additionally in fashion and style to develop a personal eyewear styling consultation process to help my clients. This process not only turned my NHS high street practice into an award-winning optical styling boutique but has transformed many of my clients’ lives!
I took this successful process and developed it into an online Eyewear Stylists Practice Programme launched by the Eyewear Styling Academy and which is now available for Optical Practice Owners and their teams globally. This course is helping independent optical teams all over the world to assist their clients with finding their happy glasses.
I am passionately committed to helping others feel fantastic in their eyewear. I am constantly evolving the practice program to accommodate growth and individual coaching requirements, plus I have recently started to build an eyewear styling digital community including regular complimentary Zoom Q&A sessions and top tips for Eyewear Styling Academy graduates. I can’t wait to help train more teams in the art of eyewear styling.
