Costa will expand the Del Mar® Collection of Rx-able beach lifestyle sunglasses for spring 2020 with the addition of two frames: Sullivan™ and Tybee™. These additions round out the special collection of acetate frames that express the Costa consumer’s love of the oceans, even when they can’t be on the water.
Tybee is a masculine, medium size, regular fit frame inspired by the laid-back beaches of Tybee Island near Savannah, Georgia. With a casual style and rectangular eye shape, this acetate frame is made for taking it all in. Available colorways include Shiny Tortoise, Matte Black, Shiny Black Kelp, and Shiny Light Gray Crystal.
Another medium size, regular fit male or unisex frame style, Sullivan is named after Sullivan’s Island, a place where beachgoers go to unwind. Sullivan was designed to have a kick-back style that still manages to grab attention with its water-inspired acetate designs and rounded eye shape. Colorways for Sullivan include Matte Tortoise, Shiny Black Kelp, Matte Gray Crystal and Shiny Deep Teal Fade.
The Del Mar® Collection utilizes Mazzucchelli acetate and premium 5-barrel hinges. The screws elevate the quality of the acetate line with a plastic coating injected around the threading for a smooth open and close. Each piece incorporates an adjustable galvanized corewire, visible inside the frame piece, with a topographical or fish scale pattern. Consumers can choose an Rx lens with Costa’s 580® technology to see clearly and filter out harsh yellow light, enhance reds, greens and blues, and absorb potentially harmful high-energy visible (HEV) blue light and 100 percent of UV light. This collection is available with glass lenses only in plano and multiple material options for Rx.
