It’s Not Easy Being Green – Great Eyewear For St. Patrick’s Day

Kermit was quoted as saying “It’s not easy being green”.

St Patrick was born in Roman-occupied Britain in the late 4^th century. He was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave at age 16. He eventually escaped but returned to Ireland later to convert the Irish to Christianity. It was said he drove the snakes from Ireland and used the shamrock to explain the Trinity.

As the Irish emigrated to the United States, they brought with them the religious holiday of St. Patrick’s Day which celebrates his death on March 17^th. The first St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in Boston in 1737, followed by New York City in 1762. The holiday has since turned into a largely secular holiday. It’s the day we all wear green and eat corned beef and cabbage.
