Make Waves With Eco Ocean

It’s time to turn the tide on ocean waste. Eco Eyewear celebrates the launch of their latest collection – Eco Ocean! They reuse ocean-based plastics and give them new life as a pair of glasses!

To gather fishing nets, ropes, and trawls from the ocean, Eco teamed up with Waste Free Oceans, an NGO that works with local fishermen who collect the used plastic. These items then get checked, cleaned, cut, dried, and prepped. After that, they get extruded into the plastic granules that become our Eco Ocean frames. The frames are lightweight and super comfortable with a smooth, matte finish in ocean-inspired shades like aqua, ink, and clay, as well as always-classic black, olive, and blue.

For their first season, they’ve got a ton of new styles to introduce in optical, polarized, and non-polarized sun varieties. For optical, we have eight styles for you to try. The first is Kai, a women’s deep rounded square with a slightly curved upper brow. Lana is a classic cat-eye, and Neri takes it a bit further with a deeper, more rounded base. The men’s square Tide has rounded edges, reminding us of a wayfarer design. Cove is the classic unisex pantos with a retro keyhole bridge, while Sand has a more rectangular shape with lenses rounded at the base. That old-school cat-eye you’ve been looking for is here with Morgan’s high brow and sharp base oval curves, and Isle keeps it low-key with an always timeless high-bridged rectangular design.

In a first for Eco, the SS21 ocean sun collection will feature sunglasses with either polarized or non-polarized lenses. For polarized, there’s Laguna, Dune, and Coast. Laguna is a women’s cat-eye design with deep rounded lenses and a thicker edge at the temples, which gives a bit of a butterfly effect. Dune accentuates the positive – it’s an angular cat-eye, with thicker temple edges that really draw attention to the brow lines. Coast is a classic pantos for both men and women, and it’s got a cool keyhole bridge for that extra something.

You can also choose non-polarized lenses! Pearl is a women’s cat-eye, with deep curves at the brow line that enhance the shape. Coral is that classy, always in style round, and Salt is a men’s square with a flatter brow line to add a hint of surfer style. The unisex pantos Wade has a slightly curved top brow line and a high keyhole bridge.
