Erkers1879 has released the Erkers Special Reserve Collection. Making its official launch at Vision Expo West, Erkers1879 is thrilled to showcase the Stewart, Johnston, and Blau eyeglasses. This elevated range is a culmination of the Erker family’s 144-year history in the city of St. Louis, telling the stories of their city, their history, and their ancestors through special colors and insignia found only in this collection. As a limited-production series, only 100 of each color is crafted, never to be made again, making for a truly exclusive style to be worn by few.

Expanding on their traditional design, their matte metal components have been upgraded to a lustrous silver, and each frame goes through a special polishing process for a remarkably soft, buttery-smooth finish. A silver inlay highlights the ridged temple tips, which are adorned by their year of inception, the number of generations to run the family business, and an icon inspired by their family’s making of Charles Lindbergh’s goggles for his famous transatlantic flight. Inspired by legends from their hometown, a microphone-like wire core supports the acetate temples of each eyeglass. Throughout the frames, you will find the Special Reserve icon, as well as specially designed Ferris Wheel rivets to note their involvement in the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, Mo. Committed to their high standard of excellence, each frame is handcrafted using a biodegradable, custom-designed cellulose acetate and surgical-grade stainless steel.

Inspired by their National Sales Manager, Brian K. Stewart, the Stewart eyeglass features a striking rectangular silhouette, softened by an angled cut along the brow. Special to this collection, two decorative Ferris Wheel rivets are found on the face of the frame, while their classic, authentic rivets bring a polished look to the exterior temple. This masculine frame is available in four colors: Black Gradient, Army, Skyline, and Matte Grey. Size: 52-20-150

Named after our Regional Sales Manager, Jill Johnston, the Johnston eyeglass was designed with rounded rims and a gentle uplift in the brow for a subtle cat eye effect. The custom Ferris Wheel rivets can be found at the exterior of the temple to support the silver hinge, while two colors from this model highlight the custom microphone core within the temple. This feminine frame was designed with thin rims and temples for a refined style and is available in a mix of classic and bright colors: Santa Fe Hare, Sea Olives, Navy Tort, and Hot Pink. Size: 49-22-145

In recognition of their longtime eyewear stylist Sandy Blau, the Blau eyeglass marries an oversized square shape with a thick temple, balanced by a smooth curve along the brow. This feminine frame was designed with eight Ferris wheel rivets, featuring two on each edge and two at either side of the custom German hinge. Each color blend of the Blau eyeglass features a semi-transparent temple to highlight the microphone patternalong the wire core. Blau is found in four never-before-seen color blends: Lionsblood, Brushfire, Jagged Edge, and Sea Spark. Size: 53-21-147
