Egypt, design duo Aya and Mounaz Abdelraouf launched Okhtien in 2013. They took the Arabic name for sister literally when creating this fashion brand. The Cairo born siblings, won the DDFC/Vogue Arabia Fashion Prize for accessories in 2016, and their brand has continued to grow and gain attention, in the region and abroad, including with Beyoncé, Kris Jenner, and Emma Roberts. Closer to home, Egypt’s First Lady, Entesar el-Sisi, and fashionistas like Jessica Kahawaty and Karen Wazen Bakhazi have helped make the brand popular.
The company is set to release their debut eyewear collection soon and many in the fashion world are already taking notice. The eyewear takes its cues from the 80’s with bold looks and intricate styling all made to complement their lines of stylish purses and handbags.
