Always committed to research and innovation, OKIA – the Hong Kong-based eyewear company recognized worldwide for its patented HDA® Technology – glances at a more sustainable future by announcing the official launch of “Reshape”, its first eyewear collection crafted exclusively from recycled water bottle plastic, and “Bio Lens 2.0”, a revolutionary 100% bio-degradable lens.
The new “Reshape” collection is entirely made of 100% recycled PET material, a petroleum-based product that is globally known as safe, lightweight and flexible. This material is also 100% BPA free and allows to produce frames with high impact resistance. Moreover, it can be blended with other materials in order to obtain different eyewear results.
By upcycling wasted water bottles into eyewear, the “Reshape” collection helps to lower the amount of landfills and to reduce the harmful chemicals that release from water bottles, thus doing something good for the world.
“Bio Lens 2.0” is a cutting-edge sustainable lens that meets optical standard, features high impact resistance and can be used for both sun lenses and demo lenses and is 100% biodegradable.
Besides offering supreme comfort and performance, “Bio Lens 2.0” answers to the growing consumers’ demand for innovations of “sustainability” and helps to make the world better and to save the environment at the same time.
“People are more and more keen on protecting the environment by using green products in their daily life and we at OKIA are trying to give our own contribution to build a more sustainable future of the eyewear industry”, comments Jacky Lam, Managing Director at OKIA. “We are always looking for innovations and these new products prove that we can be more sensitive to nature and people while ensuring excellent performance features and extraordinary outcomes”.
