These are not all the Optical Vendors that give back- many we will never know- they do not publicize- but we applaud all optical vendors who give back to the community. This post is a work in progress- as we learn more we will continually update those who give back to the community

Buying Groups

  • Vision West– Gives back to California Optometric Association, NYSOA, Scholarship programs to SCCO, and UC Berkeley and more.

Frame Vendors

  • A and A Optical– Support the Susan G Komens for the Cure
  • Avalon Eyewear= partnering with the Wildlife Conservation Society
  • ClearVision- partnership with Susan Komen for the Cure, and other causes.
  • Luxottica Group- OneSight
  • Nouveau Eyewear- ReLeaf Program-
  • Optic Nerve– gave 1000 pair of sunglasses to dZi Foundation- and has joined  with Save the Poles to raise awareness about global warming and advocate for the solutions.
  • 7 Eye- partnered with  Winter Wildland Alliance to promote the preservation of winter wild-lands.

  • Essilor– Essilor Foundation
  • Hoya– Grant and Scholarship Program
  • Transitions– Healthy Sight For Life-Through the Fund- support national charities in the U.S. and Canada (Prevent Blindness America, CNIB, Eye Disease Foundation) but also offer grants at the community level that readers could apply for.  Eyecare professionals and optical laboratories, as well as local non-profit, not-for-profit or volunteer groups and associations are all eligible.  Proposals can be submitted through the “Get Involved” section of the Fund’s Web site.  Also offer educational resources to help raise awareness of the need for eye exams, eye protection and the enhancement of visual quality.
