Optometrist Offers Contact Lens Recycling Program

The Optical Journal - optical news with independent views

We love this- Park Slope Eye has a huge announcement on their website about Recycling CL Blister Packs. We are impressed! Here is even better news 1.) This is a WordPress Blog (which means he keeps it updated with fresh content and better for search engines. 2.) He is actively using YELP which we blogged about 3.) He’s social networking by being on FaceBook! 4.) He’s recycling 5.) This is ‘news fodder’ for local newspapers to pick up. 6.) This news creates a talk factor 7.) He is encouraging his CL patients to come back over and over and over, keeping those box warehouse shopping CL patients coming back!

The above are all great social consumer enhancing marketing programs- that cost him nothing but time.

Good Job!

‘Park Slope Eye is proud to announce that we will now be recycling used contact lens blister packs (see above).   Blister packs are made of polypropylene as denoted by the #5 recycle symbol.  Unfortunately, you can not currently place these with your other plastic recyclables because there is no NYC Dept. of Sanitation program to recycle them.

Save them up, and bring them by.  I will ensure their delivery to the proper recycling facility.  Just please remember to remove the foil from the plastic.

Park Slope Eye is located in Brooklyn, NY.  For more info contact Justin Bazan, OD, the optometrist of Park Slope Eye, at [email protected] visit www.ParkSlopeEye.com
