Shamir Insight Inc., announced that Tom Brophy joins Shamir as Vice President of Sales. Tom has a strong optical background balanced in Operations and in Business Development. ““I love the optical industry.  It’s an amazing blend of passionate individuals who can be equally strong competitors yet strong collaborators when it comes to working to help people see,” says Tom.

Mr. Brophy began his Optical career in sales and spent six years covering multiple territories across the country.  In 2006 Mr. Brophy Co-founded Perfect Optics, a wholesale optical laboratory focused on freeform and digital lens technology in mass manufacturing.  After the sale of Perfect Optics to a managed vision care company in 2011, Mr. Brophy continued employment and held various roles including Lab Director in San Diego, where he substantially grew the laboratory’s per day volume, and as Regional Vice President, where he led and directed teams of Optical Business Consultants.

Europa announced the promotion of two of their sales representatives. Derrick Stinnett has been promoted to director of sales operations and Doug Pelkey has been promoted to business development manager.

In his role as director of sales operations, Derrick Stinnett will continue to lead his regional team, while also helping to develop and implement strategies to support overall sales efforts. Derrick joined Europa seven years ago, and has excelled as a sales representative and as a regional sales manager. He is always eager to help his team and his peers, and is passionate about furthering Europa’s growth and success. “I am excited to take on this role as Director of Sales Operations and focus on enhancing our sales strategies. It’s an honor and privilege to work for Europa alongside the best people in the industry,” remarked Stinnett.

Transitions Optical has announced the appointment of Rose Harris to senior director of marketing, North America. In her new role, Harris is responsible for strategic development, implementation, and integration of all Transitions marketing programs for the U.S. and Canada.

As senior director of marketing, North America, Harris will also represent the region to drive growth and to create cross-functional alignment for regional marketing strategies for Transitions® lenses. She will oversee the management of key channels as well as the appropriate consumer and trade marketing functions.
