TC CHARTON Made to Fit Eyewear is launching its Spring 2022 Collection, a line of ophthalmic frames designed to let the world see you. Clear acetate and clean shapes are woven with a mix of classic or colorful accents that frame the face.
“The focus is on you. I have always intended my frames to accentuate people’s faces, not distract from them,” said TC CHARTON founder and designer Alexandra Peng. “I think we are feeling more hopeful and what this combination of acetates and shapes does, it lights up your face.”
Part of the new collection is the “Kelly,” modeled by the brand’s first Caucasian model. In what has been a continued transformation of the brand over the past 12 years, TC CHARTON has moved away from Asian Fit Eyewear to Made to Fit Eyewear.
“We started getting inquiries from non-Asian people who also had difficulty finding frames that fit. This surprised me because I always thought of it as an issue only Asians face,” said Peng. TC CHARTON is not about one shape fitting all, rather it takes a more bespoke approach, accounting for a myriad of face shapes, sizes, nose bridges. It’s like each frame is designed with a particular combination of features in mind,” said Peng.
Here are just a few of the great color combinations in these wonderful new frame styles.
Super light and fresh, the Kelly is notable for the craftsmanship that went into milling away the first layer of acetate to reveal the crystal color. With just a distinctive pop of color at the top, the Kelly opens up the face, perfect for Spring.
Feminine and flattering to many face shapes, the Silvia combines a trio of surprising and yet wearable colors. The metal accents on the temples add an elegant touch.
The Veronica is a generous size frame without the bulk and weight. Clear acetates and super-light metal temples make this style look and feel lighter than a 57 eye size.
Coming in a blended gray and red, forest green or a gradient of teal, green and grey, the Carolina lends a sophisticated air with a slight cat-eye. The colors of the frames give this classic a fresh take.
A surprising sliver of color distinguishes the Watanabe, breaking up the gradient colors of these frames. Understated yet sophisticated enough for everyday wear, ophthalmic lenses work very well. We also recommend tinted lenses because the Watanabe looks great as a pair of sunglasses.
