Vision Expo’s Third Annual OPTImum Retail Award Winner to be Announced April 7

Vision Expo is pleased to announce that the winner of the third annual OPTImum Retail Award will be revealed on April 7, with a celebratory cocktail party to follow at Vision Expo West 2020 in Las Vegas. The OPTImum Retail Award celebrates independent retailers by showcasing their products, stores, visions, and stories.

“As we navigate through this difficult time, Vision Expo is committed to serving the optical industry and finding ways to bring the vision community together,” said Fran Pennella, event vice president at Reed Exhibitions. “We are excited to celebrate the amazing work of each of the OPTImum Retail Award finalists in the coming weeks and look forward to honoring the winner and finalists together with the vision community at Vision Expo West this September.”

All award finalists and the winner will receive their awards in April and will then be the guests of honor at a cocktail party at Vision Expo West in September following the Independence @ the Creative Edge Panel. Additionally, the winner of the 2020 OPTImum Retail Award will be featured in 20/20 Magazine this spring.

The 2020 finalists include:

  • Black Optical – Dallas, Tulsa, Oklahoma City
  • G is for Glasses – Winnipeg
  • Globe Specs – Kyoto
  • Gogosha Optique – Los Angeles
  • The Eye Place – London
    Applicants were asked to share their in-store innovations, individuality, culture, brand loyalty, and technology usage. To determine the final winner, Vision Expo’s social media channels were open for voting from Feb. 21–March 9 to be factored into the judges’ scores. The winner will be selected by a committee of the industry’s top leaders including Dr. Arian Fartash, optometrist and influencer of @glamoptometrist; Christian Roth, eyewear designer and the first Council of Fashion Designers of America member in the eyewear category since 1990; and James Spina, 20/20 Magazine editor-in-chief and senior vice president.
