In 1970 Linda Farrow pioneered the world’s first high-fashion eyewear, breaking the rules and creating her own space in a predominantly malecontrolled industry. Today her legacy approaches a milestone as this year we are celebrating 50 years of proudly designing and crafting the world’s highest quality eyewear. To mark our anniversary, we have shifted the spotlight towards Londoners that continue to inspire us from all walks of life including women in business, fashion, film, music and the arts.
Teaming up with the women’s charity Smart Works, Linda Farrow will release a capsule collection in March 2020 consisting of 30 classic Linda Farrow styles. As well as donating over 200 pairs of Linda Farrow optical frames to Smart Works, the collection will raise funds for the charity with 50% of the RRP from the Linda Farrow x Smart Works being donated to the organisation. The campaign imagery from the collaboration will also include 50 portraits of inspiring women possessing the same energy and passion that originally drove Linda Farrow.
Created in September 2013, Smart Works exists to help unemployed women regain the confidence they need to succeed at job interviews, return to employment and transform their lives. As well as providing complete outfits of high-quality clothes for job interviews, beneficiaries also have access to one-to-one interview training and the opportunity to join Smart Works Network, meeting every month to further their professional and personal development. The Duchess of Sussex became Patron of Smart Works in 2019 and is very supportive of the impactful work being done to help women into the workforce.
