The Optical Journal was again awarded a w3 Award for best business website for 2021. For the second year in a row, the Optical Journal shares the world stage with such notable companies as Forbes, Amazon, AARP. McKinsey, National Association of REALTORS, and Saatchi & Saatchi.
“We are both proud and humbled by this international recognition”, said Optical Journal Publisher and Executive Editor, Daniel Feldman. “To receive this prestigious award two years in a row is a real testament to those who support our mission of being the leading independent optical news and fashion website.”
The Optical Journal was born of the merger of The Optical Vision Site and Optical Vision Resources, the optical industry’s older optical blogs, started in 2008 by Cathy Ives and Shirley Platzer-Stocks. Daniel Feldman, the owner of dba designs, a Denver optical marketing firm, and long-time contributor to The Optical Vision Site, purchased the sites in 2018, as Cathy and Shirley, announced their retirements. The two sites were merged into the newly named Optical Journal in September of 2019.
The Optical Journal is now the most visited optical news and fashion website in the world. Over 2 million visitors from every corner of the world consumed over 15 million pages of content on the website in 2020 and traffic has been increasing throughout 2021.
The Optical Journal also has a widely listened to optical podcast, wrapping up its 4th year of speaking with industry leaders about their work and their passion. The podcast is available on all major podcast streaming channels including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon, iHeartradio, Audible, and Stitcher.
The w3 Awards are sanctioned by the esteemed members of the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA) – an accomplished group of professionals with demonstrable expertise in all categories they review.
